Dogspike Design & Architecture is seeking part-time administrative support to assist with Housing for Health projects across the Northern Territory.
We are based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and work across Australia — from Tasmania to the Top End — on remote housing projects, applied research, and architectural work. Much of our work supports the Housing for Health methodology, improving health outcomes through housing that functions properly, is maintained well, and responds to place.
This is work that values care, accuracy, and follow-through. It sits behind the scenes, but it matters.
About the Role
The role provides administrative and data support to active Housing for Health projects in remote NT communities.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing completed trade work orders (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
Managing and checking invoices, including communicating discrepancies
Data entry, management and basic analysis of project information
Supporting project records, consistency and quality control
General project support
For the right person, there may be opportunities over time to:
Increase days
Be trained to join remote projects on the ground (up to two-week stints)
Support architectural, research or policy-adjacent work within Dogspike
Who This Role Suits
This role suits someone who understands that good administration underpins good outcomes.
You might be:
Architecturally trained, or
From a multidisciplinary background (administration, data, accounting, business, construction, environmental health, or similar)
You will likely have:
Some knowledge of building or construction
A comfort with working carefully through information and systems
An interest in community-led, place-based work in remote Australia
Role Requirements
Part-time: 2 consecutive days per week (with scope to grow)
Start: mid-February 2026
Able to work:
Remotely online, or
Based in Alice Springs
Your own computer
Ability to work as a contractor (ABN required; insurance negotiable)
What We’re Looking For
You will be:
Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office (and be a quick learner of new programs / databases)
If Architecturally trained, literate in ArchiCAD, InDesign, and Photoshop
Reliable, consistent and organised
Detail-oriented, with an eye for accuracy and patterns
A clear and respectful communicator in English
Willing to listen to and work within the Housing for Health methodology
Respectful of, and open to learning from and prioritise, First Nations peoples and communities
Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check / Ochre Card / Police Check (for community work, if interested)
Personal qualities that matter to us:
